Bay Tree Books and Gifts Glossop

96 High St W, Glossop SK13 8BB, UK – 01457 862512

Local bookshops are to be treasured. Yes you can get any book you want from the Internet, but there's no substitute in my mind to browsing the real thing. Glossop's Bay Tree Books has a good range of books for all ages and the staff are both friendly and knowledgeable, so they'll help track down that special book you're after or just recommend a good read in whatever genre you specify. They'll order in anything that's not in stock, and usually this arrives within the week. They also have a great variation on the book token idea where you can buy a subscription for book a month for six months or a year, and they'll choose something for you based on your preferences and feedback. I did this for my wife last year and every book she received was a great read and introduced us to some authors we might not otherwise have tried.

This is a lovely independent bookshop on the high street in Glossop. It has a great selection of books for young and old. My little went for Elmer day and we bought her some of her 1st books (Gruffalo and and an Elmer book. Well worth a visit and to support independent stores.
